Located 28 km northeast of Munich, Franz Josef Strauss is Germany’s second and the world’s 28th busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic. In 2007, it handled 33.96 million passengers and was named “Best Airport in Europe” and fourth best in the world by the air transport research company Skytrax.
